Members of the Poplar Bluff Fire Department donated over a dozen new winter coats to students at Eugene Field Elementary on Thursday, Dec. 7. 

A partnership between the International Association of Fire Fighters and the nonprofit organization Operation Warm, local firefighters coordinated with the elementary school to determine the needs, according to Austin Armes, president of IAFF 2543. 

“We are very fortunate to have received these coats,” said Heather Taylor, school nurse. “The students were very excited to know that the coats came from the Fire Department and they were even more excited to meet the firefighters.”
